Marvel's Agent Carter, or simply Agent Carter, is an upcoming American television series created for ABC by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, inspired by the films Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and theMarvel One-Shot short film of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise.

The series features the Marvel Comics character Peggy Carter, with Hayley Atwell reprising her role from the film series, as she must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark while trying to navigate life as a single woman in 1940s America. Several characters from Marvel Cinematic Universe films appear throughout the series. It is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television, with Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas serving as showrunners.

The series was officially ordered on May 8, 2014, and is scheduled to debut on January 6, 2015, during the season two mid-season break of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

CAST :

• Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter:

An officer with the Strategic Scientific Reserve. Atwell said it was "thrilling" to explore "the backdrop of this male-dominated world, where women are still in the workforce, unspoken for and struggling to find a place outside the home" and how it affects Carter, who must deal with this along with the missions she receives.

• James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis: Howard Stark's butler and ally to Carter, who will eventually be a tutor to Tony Stark and inspire his J.A.R.V.I.S. artificial intelligence.
• Chad Michael Murray as Jack Thompson: An agent with the SSR.
• Enver Gjokaj as Daniel Sousa: A war veteran who is an agent with the SSR.
• Lyndsy Fonseca as Angie Martinelli: An aspiring actress who befriends Peggy.
• Shea Whigham as Roger Dooley: The SSR chief who oversees agents Carter, Thompson and Sousa.

Dominic Cooper will appear as Howard Stark, the father of Tony Stark, and a founding member of S.H.I.E.L.D., while Costa Ronin will appear as Anton Vanko, co-creator of the arc reactor with Stark. Kyle Bornheimer will have a recurring role as Agent Ray Krzeminski, while Meagen Fay will have a recurring role of at least 4 episodes as the woman who runs the boarding house where Carter lives. Bridget Regan will appear as Dottie, a small-town girl from Iowa who moves next door to Carter. Carter's husband will also be explored.
