One thing we know for sure, is that they’re headed in one direction: towards Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet. The Infinity Gauntlet is a weapon that Thanos assembles out of the six Infinity Gems, which grants him mastery over time, space, mind, reality, power and soul. Omnipotence.
Thanos will invade Earth in an attempt to find the Infinity Stones and it is possible that he'll have some allies too. Since Marvel is fond of having their villains team up, it is possible that in an attempt to tie the cinematic universe together, Loki and Red Skull will help Thanos in his quest.
Brand new gossip suggests that Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed "Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier" will take over the "Avengers" reigns once Whedon departs after "Age of Ultron."
When last we saw Tom Hiddleston's Loki in 'Thor: The Dark World,' he was disguised as Odin and sitting on Asgard's throne. It seemed fairly certain that we'd see our favorite god of mischief again. And now Marvel's Kevin Feige has confirmed that Loki isn't just appearing in 'Thor: Ragnarok,' but that he'll play a pretty big role in both parts of 'Avengers: Infinity War.' Let the mischief AND madness begin!
It's not yet confirmed whether the original superhero cast will return for "Avengers: Infinity War." MTV noted that the actors "have been pretty public about how most of their contracts with Marvel run out the same time" as the movie. There's a possibility that Robert Downey Jr. (who plays Iron Man) and Chris Evans (Captain America) will return, though. Fingers crossed.
